«Flexibility & Adaptability» This motto leads Vivactis – Newton 21 communication group through the times of global economic recession. Healthcare specialisation, know-how development and group’s restructuring allowed Vivactis – Newton 21 to maintain the following consolidated results for the first half of 2009: Turnover of 6,92 million euro and Gross Margin of 3,98 million euro.
These aggregated figures hide behind classical advertising companies that were exposed in the higher degree to the general economic trend of the market segment as well as highly specialised healthcare communication companies. This second category has increased the performance results and is gaining in its market share. So, Vivactis Etudes Cliniques has more than doubled its turnover.
The beginning of the second half of 2009 shows continuation of the negative trend for the classical advertising. For example, several important budgets of Newton 21 Madrid acting on the most impacted by the economic crisis market in Europe, Spain, have been adjourned. Even if this company won a National Campaign for Forest Fire Prevention 2009 with the global budget of 1.263.000 euro and a new client in the private sector «Mozo – Grau». In the totally ruined Spanish advertising market Vivactis – Newton 21 is in a better situation than the competitors. The group keeps up with being profitable in Barcelona and Madrid even if the profit is not at the initial expected level.
The management of the Vivactis – Newton 21 group adjusted the forecasted operational profit (EBITDA) of the group to the level of 2.500.000 euro (1.995.544 euro in 2008).
Vivactis – Newton 21 finalized in the beginning of October the acquisition of BCM Roma. General Manager of this entity Paolo Marino becomes the leader of all the group’s activities in Italy. This operation was done using the authorised capital to remunerate Paolo Marino with new shares of Newton 21 Europe of the value of 6,91 euro.
Thanks to this acquisition Vivactis – Newton 21 is in the top 25 of the communication and marketing companies in Italy.
